Introduction of Gaudia Union:
Gaudia Union on the banks of Padma River is a traditional Union Parishad of Louhjong Upazila of Munshiganj District. In this union, numerous intellectuals were born, including Sagufta Yasmin Emily, member of parliament of Munshiganj-2 seat of Bangladesh National Parliament, and writer Manik Banerjee.
As the union lies on the banks of the Padma river, the agricultural land here is very fertile. Crops such as rice, jute, potato, maize, mustard, sugarcane etc. are grown here in abundance.
A lot of fish including silver hilsa are found in Padma river.
which sustains the livelihood of fishermen. Gaudia Union has a total area of 15.09 square kilometers and a total population of about 18979 (as per Census-2011). There are total 14 villages in this union, but 2 villages are broken in Padma river. There are 10 Primary Schools, 01 Secondary Schools, 01 Higher Secondary Schools, 05 Markets, 04 Hospitals, 03 Kheyaghats, 02 Shelters, 35 Mosques and 03 Madrasahs.
Drishtinandan Hospital of Shamurbari village and Padma river banks and "The Slow Garden" tourist center of Gholtali village are notable.
All the people of this union have been living very civilly and happily in harmony.
